Polish 1♣
This Polish Club shows one of three variants:
- 12–14 with 2–4 cards in each suit
- or 11–16 with (5+♣ or 4414)
- or 17+ with a hand unsuitable for 1♦ and 1NT
Note that 2♣ is no longer natural since Polish Club 2020: Expert. 1♣ takes care of all ♣-suited hands.
I move diamond invitation down to 1♣ - 2♠ in case of a misfit. Strong balanced hands go to 1♣ - 3♦ and 1♣ - 1♦.
I also swap 1♣ - 2♣♦ because the potential club fit saves bidding space. On the other hand, the diamond suit requires more space to explore a fit.
